TeaKo (“we”, “us”) helps you find roles that fit you and prepare applications for them — through a career fit test, job matching, and resume tailoring.
Information we collect
Account data
- Name and email address from your Google or GitHub sign-in, or the email address and password you choose when you sign up directly.
- If your account was created by taking the career fit test or by tailoring a resume, you signed in with an emailed link rather than a password, and no password exists on the account.
Content you provide
- Resume files and resume text you upload.
- Career preferences you enter (target roles, target markets, etc.).
- Your answers to the career fit test. See “The career fit test” below for how these are stored.
- What you type in the onboarding chat, where we ask what you are looking for.
Automatically collected data
- Authentication cookies required to keep you signed in.
- Basic server logs needed to operate and secure the service.
- Product analytics. How the site is used — pages visited, features used, and where a visit came from (for example, a link in an ad or another website). The campaign or link that first brought you to TeaKo is kept in a first-party cookie for up to 90 days, and copied onto your account once if you create one, so we can tell which marketing reaches people who find TeaKo useful. We never send your resume text, career fit test answers, or other free text you type into the product to our analytics provider — only counts, categories, and IDs.
- Session recordings. We record how pages are interacted with — clicks, scrolling and navigation — so we can see where the product is confusing. Text you type into forms is masked, and the pages that display your resume, skill analysis and tailored resume content are excluded from recording entirely.
- Advertising measurement. When we run ads, advertising pixels record that a visit happened and which steps people reach (a chat started, a resume added, an account created, a membership started), and send Meta a scrambled copy of the email address, so we can tell which ads brought people who found TeaKo useful and show ads to people who have visited before. See “Third-party services” below.
How we use information
- Create and manage your account.
- Process your resume using AI models to extract skills and generate personalised job recommendations and resume suggestions.
- Read your onboarding chat with AI models to understand what you want and set up your searches. The chat is stored with your account.
- Score your career fit test answers and generate your personal report and role matches.
- Process payment for a paid membership and manage your subscription.
- Improve product quality, reliability, and security.
The career fit test
The test asks about what you enjoy, what matters to you at work, and how you work. How your answers are handled depends on what they’re used for:
- Your answers about what you enjoy and what matters to you at work, along with the resulting scores, are stored on your account.
- Your answers about how you work are scored in memory at the moment you submit them. Only the resulting scores are stored — the individual answers are not kept.
If you take the test before creating an account, your answers are cached in your browser (not on our servers) so you don’t lose your progress. When you enter your email to see your results, we score your answers and store the result under that email address, then send you a sign-in link. If you don’t click that link, the stored result is automatically deleted after 7 days. Clicking the link claims the result and attaches it to your account, where the normal retention rules above apply.
Membership and billing
Paid membership is billed by card through Stripe. TeaKo does not receive or store your card number — Stripe handles that directly. From your billing page you can view your invoices and cancel anytime; a cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for.
Third-party services
We use the following providers to operate TeaKo. Each processes data on our behalf and is not permitted to use it for its own purposes.
- Supabase — our database, sign-in, and file storage.
- Cloudflare — stores uploaded resume files, and checks that sign-up and test submissions are coming from a real person rather than a bot.
- Anthropic — the AI models that read your resume and the onboarding chat, and write your reports and tailored resume content.
- PostHog — the product analytics and session recordings described above. Its servers are located in the United States, so if you are outside the US this data is processed outside your country.
- Stripe — payment processing for paid membership.
- Vercel — hosts the site, and collects basic pageview and performance data (page load speed and similar). It does not receive product events — those go to PostHog.
- Resend — sends account, sign-in, and career-fit-test-result emails.
- Modal and a background server we operate — run resume scoring and job matching outside the request that loads your page, so results can keep computing after you leave.
Some of this processing happens in the United States; depending on the provider, your data may be processed outside your own country, including in the United States.
When we run ads, we use two advertising pixels: the Reddit advertising pixel and the Meta pixel (for ads on Instagram and Facebook). We use them to measure how our ads perform, to show ads to people who have visited before, and to avoid showing them to people who are already members.
Reddit learns that a visit to one of our public pages happened and that an account was created.
Meta learns:
- that a visit to one of our public pages happened;
- that a chat with TeaKo was started;
- that a resume was added to the chat;
- that an account was created;
- that a paid membership started, and its price;
- a scrambled copy of your email address (a hash). It cannot be read as an address, but Meta can compare it with the addresses its own users registered, to match these steps to your Meta account. We send it when we learn your address: from the contact details on a resume you add to the chat, from the address you give us to receive your test results, and from your account when you sign up or become a member.
Page visits are reported from public pages only. The other steps are reported where they happen, which can be a page that is not public, such as the chat or the test. Each report carries the address of the page it happened on, as every pixel event does, and a reference number so the same step is never counted twice.
Meta’s automatic matching is switched on for the Meta pixel. On a page where the pixel runs, it can also pick up an email address or phone number from a form on the page and send Meta a scrambled copy of it.
Apart from the scrambled email address and phone number described above, neither pixel receives your resume, what is in it, your chat messages, your test answers, your skill analysis, or your job matches. You can stop the pixels by blocking third-party scripts in your browser or by using an ad blocker; the product works normally either way.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your resume or analysis with advertising networks.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share data with the service providers described above. We do not share your resume with employers unless you explicitly choose to export or submit it.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete a resume, we remove the uploaded file and extracted text. You can request full account deletion by contacting us.
Resume tailoring without an account
The free resume tailoring tool lets you upload a resume without creating an account. Because there is no account, there is no place for you to sign in and delete that upload yourself, so we delete it for you: the uploaded file, the extracted text and the generated results are removed automatically within 7 days.
If you create an account before then, that data moves to your account and follows the normal retention rules above. We keep an anonymised copy of the skills analysis — with your name and contact details removed — so that re-uploading the same resume does not have to be processed again.
When you paste a job posting link into the tailoring tool, our servers fetch that public page to read the job description. We store the job details alongside your tailored resume.
Children
TeaKo is not directed at anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
